Off to Ängelholm

A few days ago I was contacted on Facebook by a man by the name of Niclas Ekvall who lives in Ängelholm, Sweden. He informed me that he had received notification that he and his family would be my first host family in January.

Ängelholm is a small city with a population of 25,000 people located on a bay in the very south of Sweden. It is also the home of Koenigsegg automotive... the car enthusiast in me is very excited :)

In the Beginning...

So welcome to my Blog,

This is a place where over the next 15 months I will chronicle my time in Sweden; the places I go, the people I see, the adventures and the misadventures I find myself undertaking.

It all started 9 months ago with Alex Crouch, an old boy of my school, returning to speak to my grade about his year away on Rotary Youth Exchange in... where else but Sweden. Throughout his talk I could feel the excitement and happiness return to him as he recalled his memories of his year away.  His stories of amazing culture, beautiful women and stunning countryside easily persuaded me and I applied to Rotary Youth Exchange. After an overnight interviewing process I was selected by Rotary to go to Sweden.
