Returning from Paris, I made my way down to Malmö with my newbie, Rosandrea (Rosie) from Italy. We spent the day window-shopping and looking around Malmö. We were later joined by Alessandro and a couple of the other newbies (a newbie is an exchange students that arrive 6 months after you and an oldie is one that has already been in the country 6 months).
Two days later I again met with Rosie, this time accompanied by one of the other newbies, Aditi (India) and we made our way to Höör for Skåne Canoe trip.
The overnight canoe trip was good fun and quite a work out. It was nice to meet all the newcomers to the two southern districts (2400 & 2390)
That Thursday I started school again, this time at Rönne Gymnasium (Senior School; yr 10-12). Rönne is a much bigger school with 140-200 students per year group. I was given a full schedule to keep me busy.
That weekend I joined the Sandbergs in going to a vintage car show at Valhall Park; 200m from Koenigsegg's Factory. Due to the car shows proximity to the factory, naturally Koenigsegg showed of both the Agera R (same one I saw being assembled in June) and the CCX. Two of the fastest cars in the world sitting side-by-side.
(Left: The CCX held the title of "The Fastest Production Car in the World" in 2005, up until the release of VW's Bugatti Veyron in 2006. Right: Bugatti's biggest rival, the Agera R ) |
(It is hard to see but this Agera has the Exposed Carbon finnish I mentioned in my Koenigsegg Factory post. The extra attention to detail mean this car would be worth around $2 millon) |
There were several hundred cars, most 30 years or older, and it took us several hours to see then all.
There was also a few displays for new automotive related products such as electric-assisted bikes that power-on when you pedal.
